A quick counting example
Type Hello world!
without the quotation marks: the result is 2 words, 12 characters, and 11 characters without spaces. The exclamation mark counts as a character, but not as another word. Add a blank line between two pieces of text when you want them counted as separate paragraphs.
How does the counter treat words?
The counter follows modern Unicode word boundaries, keeps ordinary English contractions and hyphenated compounds together, and treats a URL or email address as one word. Different editors may make slightly different choices at unusual punctuation boundaries.

Does MallowDesk receive my text?
