How does the counter treat words?
The counter follows modern Unicode word boundaries, keeps ordinary English contractions and hyphenated compounds together, and treats a URL or email address as one word. Different editors may make slightly different choices at unusual punctuation boundaries.
Does MallowDesk receive my text?
No. Counting happens locally in your browser. A same-tab draft may be kept in temporary browser session storage so an accidental refresh is less painful. Read the full privacy note for the exact behavior.
